A note from from Tom Richards,
Local Area Coordination Network Manager

Hello and welcome to this month’s (themed) Local Area Coordination Network newsletter!

We thought we would dedicate the whole of this month’s newsletter to celebrating our biggest event of the year – the Local Area Coordination Network National Gathering 2023. This year’s event was kindly hosted by Sheffield University and centred on the theme of ‘Why Local Area Coordination Works’.

The event featured presentations from Local Area Coordinators and citizens they have been walking alongside, as well as researchers and external evaluators – all offering different perspectives on what makes Local Area Coordination work for people, communities and systems. Equally importantly, the event offered an opportunity for 80+ Local Area Coordinators and Local Area Coordination leaders to build new connections, meet old friends, learn from each other, and collectively grow Local Area Coordination. It was such an inspiring day and we already can’t wait for next year’s!

You can find out more about some of the speakers we heard from below.

Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy the newsletter!
