Design integrity (doing it properly, no diluting, no cherry picking bits of it etc) is key to Local Area Coordination values, principles and outcomes. Inclusion, contribution, strengths, mutual support – relationships are central.
Last week, the LAC Network brought together Local Area Coordinator Managers from across different parts of England and Wales to share learning and build a shared understanding, vision and action for the future.
Thanks to Neil Woodhead (Derby City), Tania Sitch (Thurrock), Heather Rowell (Isle of Wight), Jane Tonks (Swansea), Andrew Michael (Neath Port Talbot) and Marie Billyeald (Derbyshire) for a really exciting and inspiring day.
Big thanks to Neil and Derby for hosting the event.
It was a great opportunity to get to know each other and to think about ways that we can build positive and supportive working relationships – building on everyone’s gifts, strengths and experiences.
Also a great session from Andrew Michael, helping us to develop Positive and Productive Meetings – thanks Andrew. Now we are all working on our one page profiles!

We are planning another get together in May, alongside a national gathering of Local Area Coordinators. We will be running some best practice learning sets, building supportive connections, listening to stories and planning for sharing ideas and experiences – can’t wait!
Big thanks to Thurrock Council for hosting the next event on behalf of the Local Area Coordination Network.
