Research in Practice – paid opportunity for community folk

Community Catalysts is running a full day online workshop 4 times for Research in Practice during mid-October to mid-November. The workshop is aimed at practitioners (social workers and similar) and is all about Local Area Coordination, strengths and assets-based approaches.

Each workshop to be supported by 2 different people with lived experience so we’re keen to hear if anyone you’re alongside would be interested in taking part. The opportunity will be paid and it will involve the person:

  • Joining each session for an hour, twice (so two hours at each session in total) – this is to break up the theory with real people/practice
  • Leading their segment – the topics they might want to cover are flexible and we will make our session fit around the person, rather than the other way around. Examples could be people ‘teaching’ on topics like coproduction or the social model of disability or people could tell their personal story with us putting that into the wider context.

If the person can only make 2 of the 4 workshops we can work around that and if they’d like their Local Area Coordinator with them during the sessions that’s OK too!

Do let us know if you know anyone who may be interested in this opportunity or you want to know more.
