Community Catalysts CIC is a busy social enterprise working hard to help establish approaches to health and social care that build on the strengths of people and communities, with more than 10 years of experience in helping local people to use their energies, gifts and knowledge to set up sustainable high-quality community solutions for other local people.
Community Catalysts has recently taken on responsibility for the development of Local Area Coordination in England and Wales and as part of this the Network of 13 areas currently with Local Area Coordination programmes have been transferred into Community Catalysts.
Local Area Coordination is a well-evidenced way to support people of all ages who are dealing with complex situations in their lives. It helps people to draw upon their own strengths to live the life they want, connected and contributing to their communities; and to strengthen the capacity of communities to welcome and include people.
Community Catalysts and Local Area Coordinators have worked together in many areas for many years. We have always recognised our shared values and complementary approaches. Community Catalysts played a strong part in the national promotion of Local Area Coordination and was heavily involved in the development of the Local Area Coordination Network.
We are looking for a Director for our Local Area Coordination Network.
As Director you must have a real passion for the outcomes that Local Area Coordination can deliver for people and a thorough understanding of the model. You must share our commitment to working with the strengths of people and communities. You must have had substantial experience of working in the voluntary community, social enterprise or public sectors at a senior level and in successfully developing and growing new initiatives. But above all you must be the kind of person who will enjoy the complexities, challenges and opportunities involved in managing the Local Area Coordination Network and with the determination and energy to drive the development of Local Area Coordination in England and Wales
